The Clearing Devising Ensemble's award winning production of hOMAge premiered at the Venus Adonis Theater Festival in New York.

An original, devised work told through physical theater, collaged script, and paper, hOMAge finds its inspiration in the letters of Hella Kurth, a WW II refugee, cancer survivor, and yoga practitioner who was never at a loss for words when it came to the beautiful struggle inherent in a meaningful life.

Based on correspondence between Hella and her granddaughter over a 15-year period, hOMAge is the story of a young woman sorting through her physical and mental clutter to find her voice through the releasing of suffering passed down from one generation to the next. What she uncovers is the truth about her past, and how to take those lessons to make her own work.

hOMAge premiered at the Venus Adonis Theater Festival and went on to be featured in the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts (2014) and Theater for the New City's DreamUp Festival (2015).
